Project description

Completed in 2011, this 66,260m² structure stands at an impressive 230m with 36 office floors and 3 basement levels. Situated on Bishopsgate near Liverpool Street station, the skyscraper overlooks the heart of central London. The floors are split into 12 distinct three storey high office villages, the atrium holding one of the largest privately owned aquariums in Europe at an impressive 70,000L.

Scope

All types of fire resisting systems were used, from car park and smoke extracts to make up and ventilation systems. These predominantly served the 3 basement levels with smoke extract systems also serving the main floors.

Project highlights

Due to the large quantity of fire resisting ductwork, to avoid storage issues a just-in-time delivery system was implemented, allowing a seamless installation from manufacture to delivery and installation. The building was awarded best commercial workplace at the 2012 British Council for Offices awards.
